Joint Adjustment | Mobilization

Adjustments are a non-invasive, manual procedure that is used to restore motion to restricted joints in the body. This procedure releases endorphins, which help reduce pain, muscle tightness/spasms, and influence optimal joint movement.

Registered Massage Therapy (RMT)

Massage therapy has a variety of benefits. Massage can be used to reduce muscle tension, promote healing, increase blood flow, and aid in relaxation.

Active Release Technique

ART is a patented, state of the art movement-based soft tissue technique that treats problems within muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. ART helps break down pain generating scar tissue, a by-product of tissue trauma. BSSC practitioners recertify annually to keep abreast of the most recent developments and refine skills and diagnosis.

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy, or “Physical Therapy”, (the terms mean the same thing) is a health care profession for the prevention or treatment of injury or disease through physical means. Its goal is to enhance your life through improved health and fitness. Physiotherapists teach you techniques for recovery, pain relief, injury prevention and improved physical movement. We encourage you to participate actively in your program to achieve maximum benefit.

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM)

IASTM is a treatment that uses an instrument to treat acute, chronic, and post-surgical soft tissue injuries.

Kinesiotaping

Kinesiotaping is an innovative technique that uses elastic tape to treat nerves, muscles, and fascia. Kinesiotape is applied to the skin to provide the body with proprioceptive feedback, which is often damaged with injury. This technique has been shown to significantly improve recovery time and reduce the risk of re-injury.

Rehabilitation

BSSC develops customized rehabilitative exercise programs to correct muscle weaknesses and imbalances. If these functional deficits are not addressed, they can prevent joints from functioning optimally, placing an individual at greater risk for injury, chronic muscle, and joint pain.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a method of encouraging the body to promote natural healing and to improve function. This is done by inserting needles, with an option of applying electrical stimulation at very precise acupuncture points. This stimulates the nervous system to release chemicals (endorphins & serotonin) in the muscles, spinal cord, and brain. These chemicals will either change the experience of pain, or they will trigger the release of other chemicals and hormones, which influence the bodies own internal regulating system.

Electrotherapy | Ultrasound

Electrotherapy is a form of medical treatment, which uses small electrical impulses to repair tissue, decrease pain, reduce inflammation and strengthen/stimulate muscles. Ultrasound is a method of stimulating tissue beneath the skin’s surface using sound waves. Using a very high frequency, ultrasound can penetrate up to 5″ below the surface of your skin.
